Nazca Lines Peru

The Nazca Lines are a series of geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert, a high arid plateau that stretches more than 80 kilometres (50 mi) between the towns of Nazca and Palpa on the Pampas de Jumana in Peru. Although some local geoglyphs resemble Paracas motifs, these are largely believed to have been created by the Nazca culture between 200 BCE and 700 CE. There are hundreds of individual figures, ranging in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, sharks or orcas, lamas, and lizards. The lines are shallow designs in the ground where the reddish pebbles that cover the surrounding landscape have been removed, revealing the whitish earth underneath. Hundreds are simple lines or geometric shapes, and more than seventy are natural or human figures. The largest are over 200 metres (660 ft) across. Scholars differ in interpreting what the lines were for but generally ascribe religious significance to them. “The geometric ones could indicate the flow of water or be connected to rituals to summon water. The spiders, birds, and plants could be fertility symbols. Other possible explanations include: irrigation schemes or giant astronomical calendars” The dry, windless, stable climate of the plateau has preserved the lines to this day, for the most part. Extremely rare changes in weather may temporarily alter the general designs. Wikipedia

The lines of the astronaut – one of the pitures – are on a mountain/hill, so as you can see in my video.
I don’t think they shaved off top sections of mountains and that the flat surface has a natural course..

All I want is someone to explain how the hell these ancient humans shaved off the top section of a mountain to lay down a series of these lines on a perfectly flat surface. I’m all for believing maybe our ancestors had more advanced tech than we give them credit for….but com’on, there’s a limit. Such a feat would be herculean even with today’s technology.

the Nazca lines are indicative of an area that used to be some international airport, and what used to be a massively built up area, like JFK etc. I am of the firm believe that the earth has seen millions of encarnations of human technologies before, so i never believe those stories of how the pyramids were built by 1 million workers, the Egyptians had tech as good or better what we got today.

Then the next encarnation will come asking how we did it, when all the iphones have turned to dust.

  7. I read in one piece that these ancient people were weavers, and able to take smaller pictures and enlarge them for the larger looms, but the big question still is who were they trying to impress, since the figures are only fully visible from the air?

hot air balloons. The Nazca may have been the first humans to fly.

  16. @AaVeeZet can you please tell me the cost to fly over Nazca Lines ? Thanks

  17. rumpwrestler says

@AaVeeZet The music has been ruined by fools trying to make it more palatable. Real music of this area doesn’t sound like South AMerican Disney crap. I’ve seen the Nasca Lines and I know this style of music. Pity the real stuff isn’t used here.

  25. Clearly a ancient city for flying vehicles .
What type of artist would do a piece the size of neighborhood with no way to check the results of his work.?
What ancient person would need a 2, 6 – 15 mile long road?
